J Simone was created by Ashleigh Shalay, formerly known as Ashleigh Jefferson (maiden name). She is the "J" behind our brand and mother to Bria Simone, who is the inspiration.

At the age of 3, Bria began struggling to love her hair because she wanted long blonde hair like Elsa from the movie Frozen, which she clearly couldn't have.

Additionally, Bria was/is extremely tender-headed and hated the 3 hour process of washing and styling her hair. She hated it so much that a meme of her crying went viral back in 2016! Wanna see it? Check out our IG page. 🥴

Though she was definitely being dramatic in that photo, this led Ashleigh on a mission to develop the right products that not only reduced the washing & styling process for mothers, but makes little coily-curly girls feel cute and confident in the end. 

Here at J Simone Haircare, we believe that self-confidence empowers our girls mentally and emotionally, reducing the risk of adolescent depression!
